CP Technologies, a premier provider of rugged industrial and military computer systems, today announced they have been awarded a $1M contract to provide custom rugged computer and storage systems to the Air Force Gorgon Stare program.
Gorgon Stare is a persistent wide-area surveillance system mounted on MQ-9 Reaper drone aircraft. This high technology system provides multi-spectral high-resolution video of up to 64 square kilometers allowing long-term intelligence of enemy activity on the ground. Because the MQ-9 can stay aloft for up to 14 hours, only two aircraft are required to provide continuous reconnaissance of enemy deployment, movement, vehicles, and so forth. Data retention and analysis is a key component of the Gorgon Stare system and data is archived for up to 30 days for post-combat analysis.
Said Mike McCormack, President of CP Technologies, “We’ve been closely working with this customer to define and perfect these custom systems to give them the best possible solution which perfectly fits the mission requirements. CP Technologies supports our nation’s war fighters in many programs and we’re especially proud of this particular program because it is a game changer for keeping our troops out of harm’s way.”
CP Technologies is recognized for providing innovative custom solutions for rugged computing, storage, and display systems. By providing solutions perfectly tailored to the customer’s unique application requirements, CP Technologies can shorten total program development time and costs.
